I. Product Overview:

Calender roll base paper, also known as calender bowl paper, embossing roll paper and texture roll paper. Since a certain proportion of wool fibers are blended in its raw materials, it is commonly called “woolen paper” in the industry.

Calender roll base paper is the core and primary raw material for manufacturing paper calender rolls (woolen rolls).

It is made from blended cotton fibers and wool fibers (wool content: 10 40%). The paper web is formed on fourdrinier or inclined wire paper making machines, then processed through slitting, inspection, sorting, finishing and packaging to obtain finished products. Octagonal or square sheets of custom specified dimensions can be supplied according to customers’ practical application requirements.

Paper calender rolls manufactured from calender roll base paper are widely used for calendering, embossing and texturing processes of paper, woven fabrics and leather. They are also suitable for working procedures such as plastic film calendaring and cold rolled steel sheet polishing. In recent years, applications have been further expanded to calendering of new type materials including non woven fabrics and carbon fiber textiles.

When under working pressure, paper calender rolls made of calender roll base paper deliver excellent resilience and dimensional recoverability of the paper compacted layers. Besides, calender roll base paper can withstand high temperature working conditions without thermal deformation. Benefiting from these properties, finished materials processed by paper calender rolls, such as paper, fabrics, leather, non woven fabrics and carbon fiber textiles, feature uniform thickness, low deformation, good hand feel and superior gloss, which ensures consistent quality of processed products.
